Clarence Valley Council – Australia Day

Each year Clarence Valley Council holds an Australia Day Awards Dinner to acknowledge and honour individuals and groups within in our community.  In 2016 Clarence Valley Council’s Economic Development team approached me to create memorable events for Australia Day Awards nominees and their guests. This was to be achieved through the event theme and styling.

In order to build the theme I created living displays using locally made products for table settings. All of the items used as styling props were then presented as gifts to guests at the conclusion of the evening, thereby creating a waste-free and environmentally conscious event.

In 2017 the event theme was living local. Each guest was asked to select an Australian native plant, local honey, handmade soap and freshly made jam to enjoy. In 2018 the event theme was home made, and each guest selected a box of locally baked cookies and a container of tea to take home and share.
